IMarEst Cyprus Branch Shooting 2017

The shooting day turn out to be very successful. It was a beautiful sunny day which ensured everyone turned out to join in the fun.

The event was held at the Limassol International Shooting Club at Parekklisia, Cyprus on Saturday 22nd April 2017 starting at 11.00.

A total of 45 men, women and children joined us for the day.

The event included a 20 bird clay pigeon shoot along with air rifle and air pistol shooting (live ammunition is not allowed in Cyprus)

We had 27 entrants for the clay shoot along with 26 entrants for the rifle shoot and 26 for the pistol shoot.

Trophies were awarded for the following disciplines.

Men’s Clay shoot  – won by Eugene Beaudoin – assistant purchasing manager V Ships – scoring 16.

Women’s Clay Shoot – won by Mrs Alison Quain – Quain Marine Services – scoring 6.

Rifle Shoot – won by Yuriy Antoshkin – F.S. Holdings – scoring 66.

Pistol Shoot – won by Ms. Yana Ivanova – Interorient – scoring 45.

The event passed with no incidents apart from someone’s small dog running onto the rifle range but fortunately no-one was inclined to take a shot at it and it was recovered without injury.

The shooting concluded at 14.30 where upon the presentation of the trophies took place and then everyone sat down to enjoy a buffet lunch along with refreshments of their choice.

The event finished around 17.00 after all the contestants had departed stating what a most enjoyable day they had and asking if the event will be held again next year. Many of the contestants had never fired a gun before and although their scores were not high, they all stated that it was a great experience and many enquired about taking up the sport.

In all it was a great success due to the beautiful weather, location and facilities provided by the shooting club and the assistance of my wife Maggie, my Daughter Natalie, her boy friend Marios ,Michael Quain and Mark Hadfeildwho helped me with the instructions and assisting competitors for the clay shooting.
